A Finished Shabby Chic Project and A Favourite Auction Buy

A modern MDF bedside cabinet, the sort that has fake pine laminate on it.

Looks so much better painted in Annie Sloan Henrietta and Old White for the handles.

A feature stencil on the top. The stencil is a Jamie Oliver one, supposed to be for baking!

All drawers lined with some wallpaper with a French theme.

Wallpaper purchased from The Range.

Handles lightly distressed. Three coats of wax and polished to finish.

My favourite auction buy this week. A 1960's sewing box. It was very dusty, so gave it a quick polish with some wax. Shows up the teak wood nicely.

Expands to quite a large size. Made by a company called Arnold. All nice and clean apart from the bottom layer and a small chip to the wood on one top corner.

Very busy week, with friends and my Granddaughter over to visit.

Hope you have all had an equally happy week.

Freebie Friday - Free French Fashion Illustrations

Just a few images today as I am off to organize my art at the Chelmsford Pop-up shop.

These are from Le Petit Echo de La Mode. A French magazine showcasing the latest fashion patterns, from 1950's. Scanned at 300 dpi.

To practice my drawing I often make pen and water colour sketches of these sort of images.

Hope you have fun with these.
