Inspiration strikes at 3am this morning.
Little Jumping Joan is born at 3.05am.
Here I am.
Well yes I know you all saw this yesterday, but it's really me. Little Jumping Joan, well a little cartoon machine embroidery version. I really do look awfully like this. All short and stout with a hat.
So I did some sketching, different poses, different shoes.
Then I found some terribly nice 1970's fabric, some vintage linen and black thread.
I sewed and I sewed. Then I had some tea, with sugar of course, it is 5.30am after all.
Then some one (I wonder who) reminded me it would be a good idea to feed her. So she got sketched too.
Of course I can't show you any more it's all hush hush and secret until I launch my new designs.
Have you ever thought about sleeping at that time of day?!! Great designs - what we can see of them.....xx
ReplyDeleteWow - that is very keen. Nothing could get me out of bed that early save a fire or such. Hoping you reveal all soonish. xx
ReplyDeleteThese look like so much fun! Cant wait to see the end result.
ReplyDeleteFantastic design and I LOVE the way you tell a story - made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI really like your machine embroidery, and to be honest am a bit jealous, as I tried this recently and just couldn't get to grips with it at all.
ReplyDeleteWhen inspiration strikes you have to act on it! What a lovely idea to use the letters in your work like this. Love the 70s fabric too!
ReplyDeleteWhilst I'm not a very good sleeper (it's 1.30am and I'm reading blogs....) you beat me hands down !!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how it turns out. Night night.
Aw, she's so sweet and I love hearing about just how early in the day she was born/created! Love the fact you just went with it, whatever the time!

ReplyDeleteYou really need to do one with you in a long nightgown, a hot water bottle in one hand and a cup of tea in the other, I love your embroidered doodles :)
